Default Why is me and my friend always getting Disconnected?

Why is me and my friend always getting Disconnected? My friend just bought all 3 GW's, and ever since, we've been getting disconnected, then I go to ask other people and only like 1 peron replies "I got D/Ced" and everyone is all like "HUH?!"
Can anyone tell me why? And I thought they fixed this with the server maintanace yesterday, but it still happens.
Now I think my friend is gonna quit playing GW because he thinks the servers are terrible.

Not just you. Seems to be a lot of people. I was playing PVP and I got disconnected. I eventually re-established connection only to see another 5 or 6 other names from both sides re-establishing connection too. It's getting SEVERELY annoying.

I also experienced some inconvenient connection issues recently.

It is certainly unpleasant, however, this has happened to me before and soon the problem was fixed. I assume that there are a few changes happening involving the Eye of the North release that is coming soon.

Overall, I don't complain too much. Guild Wars does not require a monthly fee like some other games, and that makes me a bit more tolerant of minor inconveniences.

I've gotten disconnected about 10 times today, along with a couple other friends. It all happens at almost the exact same time, I know because we're all in Ventrilo together.

This is Really annoying, Yesterday i did an Urgoz run and i was in a Teamspeak server with about 8 others in the group, and almost all of us lagged out at the same time about 4 times through the entire run.

PLEASE fix this lag.

One thing that cleared up lag quite a bit was defragging the actual GW file. Since you're constantly downloading patches, the files can get spaced out which makes it hard for your computer to find the necessary files in a timely matter (in a nutshell). I'm definitely not saying that this is not a server problem, because there are some issues, but this can really help. You can view a thread that describes it in detail here http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10037429

Hope this helps a tidbit

I uninstalled some old games and did a defrag on my computer. It seemed to have stopped the disconnections. Although they also seemed to have stopped after the recent update we got... So I can't say which one did the job.

Going by the time this was posted, they're complaining about the disconnects that Arena Net warned might happen around that time, due to some maintenance.

Actually, the d/c's that I was refering to happened after the scheduled maintainance. I would not have thought twice about any issues that happened during that time. I am always aware of scheduled maintainance notices.

Wireless check the connection may be the crappy wireless (avoid wireless whenever possible just causes problems when you don't have any batteries for your mouse and bust out that corded one like me [done it several times stupid UW]). Or your crappy internet connection or it is maintenance.

Ooo yay. More disconnections recently. Average ping: 150. Seems low enough to me.

I hardly think my wireless mouse is the problem. I have a wireless router, but I use the cord.

I also having problems, I think is something related to the Download for GWEN. The connecting problems started about that time. I was playing a lot this summer and then we start getting stuck in the connecting screen. I been in contact with the support team of the game, and they haven't found anything wrong with my connection. I am sure the problem is in the game, because, doh, I'm not the only person with this problems.

A wireless mouse will not cause problems with connections. For the record, I use a wireless mouse and have had no problems. When we did have problems, we changed the ethernet cables and problem solved.
